Ignore specific items

Objects like napkins, phones, or tableware under the camera? Ignored!

Table of Contents

When customers are checking out on the kiosk, there are certain items placed on it that should not be charged during transactions. The kiosk is equipped with features that automatically ignore these specific items to streamline the purchasing process.

If your offer includes items that get detected by the kiosk, but are not to charge for because they are free, follow the steps below:

  1. Add that product to your EPOS system for a price of 0.
  2. Take reference images of it as usual.
  3. Let our support team know about it. We will configure this item to be “ignored”, so that even when it gets detected by the AI, it will not appear in the customer’s basket and therefore not confuse them.

Items you can set to ignore

  • Personal items: Items such as phones and key fobs are ignored by default.

  • Tableware: The kiosk also automatically ignores tableware items, including trays, cutlery, napkins, and empty glasses.

  • Ignore categories: For greater efficiency, you can set entire categories of free items—such as condiments, fruit, or bread slices—to be ignored without the need for reference images for each item.

  • Ignore specific products: In addition to categories, you can designate specific free items to be ignored. For example, if you want apples to be excluded from charges (as they're free), simply set them to be ignored.
