If the AI is uncertain about its decision, the kiosk will display a 'What's this?' screen with the top predictions, allowing the customer to manually select the correct option.
This uncertainty may arise when there are very similar products in the inventory (e.g., Coca Cola and Coca Cola Zero), when a product is mostly occluded from the view of the top camera, when there aren’t enough reference photos of a product, or when the quality or diversity of the reference photos is insufficient.
The kiosk will display the most likely products at the top. Prices aren’t shown at this stage — helping to guide the user to select the right product, not just the cheapest. If the correct product is not among the first few predictions, customers can tap the ‘Show more items’ button to view additional predictions, along with the inventory search bar.
If the item displayed on the ‘What’s this?’ screen is not something to charge for, it can be discarded by tapping ‘Ignore this item’.
